With this CCS project, Yara Sluiskil will prevent no less than 12 million tons of CO2 emissions from 2026.

Smart Delta Resources partner from the very beginning Yara Sluiskil is taking a big step in her ambition to reduce CO2 emissions.

The first Circular Industry Day took place in Vlissingen on Tuesday 16 May, organized by North Sea Port and Smart Delta Resources. 

The €200 million CCU installation is the first of its kind in the European steel industry.

Once again, Yara Sluiskil, as the largest hydrogen producer in the Netherlands and the largest production site of the group, sees opportunities to be an enabler for a sustainable hydrogen economy.

In the past year, Smart Delta Resources partner Dow presented its Multi Generation Plan. This plan describes the route that the Terneuzen site of the chemical group will take to achieve CO2 neutrality in 2050.

Smart Delta Resources’ partner Air Liquide has the ambition to build and operate one of the world's largest electrolysis plants,  producing hydrogen entirely from renewable electricity.

Greenhouse gas emissions in industry must be reduced to zero by 2050. Industry in Zeeland, united in the Smart Delta Resources partnership, aims to reduce CO2 emissions by more than half in 9 years.
